Nothingin particular is wrong with the Ford-era Volvos. For example, the P1 cars (C30/V50/2nd-gen S40) that share some design elements with the Focus and Mazda 3 are much better than the 1st-gen S40 and V40 (the Mitsubishi Carisma collaboration). Most of the Ford stuff was in the Volvo->Ford direction.
HiVolvo lovers! I'm in the market for a used car and am pretty interested in the P1 platform but I'm worried that I won't find them anywhere near as fun to drive as my current DD, a Toyota Celica. Having said that I'm in love with Volvo's 5 cylinder engine! It has such a unique sound and is packaged very nicely in the engine bay.

Mid2000s S40 owners: How's reliability past 100k miles? Hey r/Volvo ! Former Volvo owner here. My first car was a 98 V70 XC in a lovely Forrest Green. It was a very-high mileage car (Grandmother bought it for me at 174k miles) that I had for 5 years before the engine catastrophically died on me. Anyways, I'm in the market for a newer car and
rVolvo. The process of a full repaint, rust repair and underbody protection on our old 2008 S40 that's been in our family since new. Now it's ready for 15 more years of faithful service. 115 upvotes · 28 comments. r/Volvo.
Purchasebudget is max. $45,500 (extended warranties excluded). Got quoted on a 2018 Volvo XC60 T6 w/25,000 miles for $42,000, extended warranty is ~$4000 for 5yr/100,000 miles "bumper to bumper" from a used imported cars/sports cars dealership. I have a 2020 T5 Inscription, and have no complaints.
Volvoconsistently does a good job of communicating the safety of their vehicles in their marketing. When Ford owned Volvo, all their safety technology was shared with other manufacturers in the Ford stable. So my answer is - although the technology they developed is found on many other car brands today, it originated at Volvo so the brand
Justbecause the vehicle is built in a certain place, doesn't mean that all the components were made there as well. Those days were over many many years ago. Also, hate to break it to you, but the majority shareholder in Volvo cars, with 82% of all the shares in the company, is an entity known as "Shu Fu Li", so yes, Chinese Volvos indeed.
Youcan pick up a VERY low miler (10k mile) High spec 2020 Volvo V60 for the same price as a new Golf. I purchased a 2019 S60 T5 FWD, with 29K mileage, (nicely loaded), for $26.5K. Meanwhile, Honda dealerships are nowadays asking $37K-$40K for mid-high end 2022 Civics! 1st rule of Car Club, we don't talk about Volvo.
2022Volvo XC60: how problematic are they really? US Sale. My lease on my second Volvo XC60 (2019 T6), is up in June. I have only owned Volvos as new cars and have loved my XC60 T6s. I have started researching my end of lease options, and have stumbled on quite a few horror stories about the new 2022 XC60 models.
