Oct 17, 2018. #1. My main HDR-Fox T2 is relatively stable: I can access iPlayer in the Humax portal without problem, and a crash is very rare. In contrast, my spare HDR-Fox T2 seems quite โfragileโ in that at times it will crash almost if you look at it. And certainly, accessing iPlayer via the portal will, 9 times out of 10, crash it.
Menu button -> System -> Diagnostics : look at the Software Version field. It should be 1.00.21 if it's a Foxsat HDR, and 1.00.28 if it's a Foxsat HD. Not sure if Humax's firmware is constantly available OTA or not. But if it's not up to date then it's worth trying: Menu button -> Setup -> Software Update -> Automatic Update

The Customised Firmware does support youtubeDL which supports downloads from BBC, YouTube and some other channels. You can watch programmes recorded on the T2 using VLC on a computer/tablet but not live TV. AFAIK the Humax Aura is the only Humax product that allows access to live TV over the network though I don't have one.
In the command window type telnet your IP address plus enter. You should see a prompt from the Foxsat. Copy the text from my post above to the windows clipboard. Paste it after the Foxsat prompt (either CRTL+V or right click works from memory) Press enter. Reboot the Foxsat to apply the patch, Make a test HD recording.
